Referring to the ships cabin as the"Cabinet", a private room for a man serving as a retreat/cabinet of thoughts, mainly used by the intellectuals during the Renaissance

Working on the drawing titled: "Behind the bush 2"
pencil
140cmX100cm
detail

Fancinated by an image of  the dining room of the German ocean liner "Lahn" at the end of the 19th century, done in an opulent, heavy rococo style.
The wonderfull maze of the cast iron decoration and the wood curvings, communicate with my first "Behind the bush" work.
The almost chaotic decoration enhances the transcedent character of this space
